Brett Lobben is a graduate of the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. He holds undergraduate degrees in both Percussion Performance and Music Education. He also holds a Master’s degree in Education from Hamline University. Through the years, Brett has had the opportunity to study and perform a diverse variety of music from all parts of the globe. He has spent time studying in India where he researched the music, culture, and more specifically, the tabla. In addition to his interests in India, Brett has a deep background in African, Brazilian, Cuban and Middle Eastern music.
As a soloist, Brett has been featured at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Phoenix, AZ, the Music Educators National Conference in Madison, WI, and at the Lawrence University Sesquicentennial Celebration Concert in Appleton, WI.
Over the last ten years, Brett has performed with a wide range of artists from the Twin Cities area. He is also an active clinician who has been featured at numerous schools, universities, and events throughout the state.
