"Dakota Boy Seduced by Rock Music at An Early Age"
Drawn to "mop top" music, as if by the Pied Piper himself, the young Jeff Moe, dreams of being in a band. He meets like minded young men with the same vision. Some of these new friends start their own band. Jeff is recruited to play bass, there were already too many guitar players. He pulls weeds to earn money to buy an instrument. He scrapes together fifty dollars and buys a Montgomery Ward's bass. Young Jeff is now a bass player!
The need for the band is out of control. His identity is the band, without it, he is nothing. The garage band cult of the sixties has it's talons deep in the mind and spirit of young Mr. Moe. He plays " Louie Louie and Gloria" over and over in a hypnotic state. Eventually, he learns other songs and journeys deeper into the chasm of "Rock".
Years later, after it is too late to save him, he actually does get better and perform in public. There was even a period of time when he thought he might evolve into a jazz player. Today, he does most of his music performance with The Rhythm Junkies, still playing bass, so he can be in the band.
